She learned at Jesus and Mary College of the University of Delhi. She is a graduate of the National School of Drama dropping in 1983. Sushmita was hitched to the chief Sudhir Mishra. After her separation, she wedded the entertainer, maker, and common lobbyist Raja Bundela and has two kids. Her book ‘Baanjh: Incomplete Lives of Complete Women’ which is an assortment of 11 short stories released in January 2021.
